Favorite No. 3: The Forest of Hand and Teeth

The Forest of Hand and Teeth is a post-apocalyptic, zombie,
coming-of-age about protagonist, Mary who is enthralled by the ocean. Mary lives a small fenced in community ran by the Sisterhood and surrounded by the "Forest of Hands and Teeth" where the "Unconsecrated" roam. Mary faces many trials from love lost to outrunning hordes while the only thing keeping her hopeful is her search for the ocean.
Mary is a relatable and heartwarming character she is like any other teenger going throught the heartache of unrequited love and the search for a purpose. The Forest of Hand and Teeth is the debut novel of Carrie Ryan and is the first of the trilogy. Mystery and and wist surround the novel and its characters that will keep any reader captivated.
This is ranked my number three because it's incredibly well written. Ryan writes in such a way that pulls the reader into the story. I fell in love with all the characters and I could relate to their problems. I would recommend this book to everyone of ages twelve and up.
